The Dossin great lakes museum re-brand

I was tasked with re-branding a cultural institution in Detroit, & I chose the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle. The Dossin is a great educational resource that shares the rich history of the Great Lakes & the Detroit River with the public! They partner with the Detroit public school system to bring kids in for field trips, so the museum’s primary audience is young children & families.

I felt that the existing branding system for the Dossin lacked a sense of cohesion, & didn’t connect with their target audience as well as it could. The goal of my re-brand was to design a visual identity system that better aligned with the museum’s audience, keeping the educational integrity of the brand intact while also making it fun!
